But she’s never escaped that one moment when she could have made a difference and didn’t. Now each time she rescues a ship in distress, a little hope is born in her again. On a steamy Florida morning Seychelle is answering a Mayday call launched from the five-million-dollar Broward yacht called Top Ten. Racing her fiercest competitor for salvage rights, Seychelle has a personal stake in this rescue: Her former lover, Neal Garrett, is the yacht’s hired skipper. But being the first to reach Top Ten will lead Seychelle to a bloody payday. A beautiful woman has been stabbed to death onboard. And Garrett is nowhere to be found.Even on shore, the pressures are mounting–Seychelle owes money on her boat, and her love life is in shambles. Within twenty-four hours of finding the dead woman and towing Top Ten out of the surf, Sychelle realizes that she has steppedinto a lethal business involving some of South Florida’s sleaziest criminals. While the police treat her as the prime suspect, Seychelle begins to unravel a tangled plot centered on a strip club where “all the girls are tens on top.” Discovering the sordid secrets of

February 15th Marianne Solivan Trio
http://www.mariannesolivanjazz.com/
Quickly becoming one of the most buzzed about jazz singers on the New York scene, Marianne Solivan claims, “I don’t recall having a big moment that made me like jazz. I just dug it.”
It is that same simplicity of statement with its intrinsic honesty that characterizes Solivan’s style. The infallible swing of Ella, the daring of Betty Carter, the matter-of factness of Carmen McCrae…They can all be found in the voice of Marianne Solivan, whom trumpeter Jeremy Pelt has called “the modern-day paradigm to which all singers should aspire.”
Marianne possess a voice that can be tender and sweet while still being strong and passionate. She is able to capture the audience with her honest storytelling and breaths new life into standards that are well worn. There is a very bright future ahead for this talented beauty so make sure to see her soon.

A popular belief about the game of golf is that it is easy. And certainly when the professionals are seen on television it does indeed appear manageable. The beginner reads the magazine ads and innocently may say: “I think I will take up golf.” A resultant trip to the gadget store: the sporting goods golf department, to buy the proper equipment, and of course clothing, gets them started. Oftentimes the buyer exits the store looking like the student in “Tin Cup.” Lots of contraptions, no clue as to what is awaiting them!
Now many golfers want to experience golf for the walking exercise, others to enjoy a day outdoors with friends, while others want to be able to play in work events. The more serious, and competitive golfer usually wants to attain more success at the game. After a time or two at the golf course the novice realizes golf is not as easy as the champions make it look on TV. Most newbies now find themselves asking “Why is this game so hard?” This is likely the time when they seek out golf instruction/schools to find the answer.
A significant reason golf is “hard” is that so many aspirants think that the elements of golfing success can be self taught from manuals or well meaning friends. Error!
A primary reason golf is hard to master is that so many of the physical techniques are counter intuitive and the student has a frustrating time adjusting to what feels natural to him/her. The complexities of the golf swing as commonly taught, sound something like this. “Swing slowly for distance” “Swing 80% of your capacity to hit it far” “For power to be effective, you need a soft grip” “Putting is an art, not a science” Now what does the golfer think of those ideas when standing on the driving range with a 200 yard distance to cover and a funny looking club in his hand? Learning these basic principles, and others like them, is absolutely necessary for any progress to take place
For a fortunate few, usually right brain types, the verbiage is less critical as they function best by “feel” One of the leading problems in golf instruction is a situation the instructor and the student are unaware how the student takes information and reacts to it. A lawyer and a musician absorb information and utilize it in different ways. What kind of learner are you?
Now golf is played on a wide area measured in hundreds of yards, and the distance to cover is intimidating all by itself to many players, especially women. Moving the golf ball 200+ yards is a matter of technique, but it is a subtle technique consisting of timing, and proper form. Even the beginner has a clubhead speed in excess of 60 mph! Of course in addition to distance you still have to find the ball, so accuracy cannot be neglected. The basic swing patterns which create distance also create accuracy.
Now once a person thinks he has some of these fundamentals in order, he is confronted with the most basic skill inherent in the golf game. That is the use of the brain to utilize the physical skills. Some of the best golfing minds have said, golf is 80-90% mental! There is something demoralizing which occurs in the silence of the preparation for the golf swing. It is quiet and private, a strange place for many individuals to be! Negative thoughts have a tendency to destroy good intentions. Most new golfers are not well taught in the mechanics of positive thoughts and emotions.
“If you don’t believe you can do it, or if you believe you can do it, in both cases you are right”! As one progresses in golf skills, the mind itself becomes the 15th club. Another way of putting it-as you live your life, so you can live your golf. Be positive!
To get the most out of ones golfing experience there is absolutely no substitution for learning the fundamentals in their simplest form. Golf is not brain surgery, but it is a highly individualistic process and rarely, except in the young, is it instinctive. One must develop technique and “feeling” related to their own body type, natural ability and coordination. The secret to solving golf’s difficulties is excellent professional golf instruction. First consult your local driving range professional for short series of lessons with other beginners in a small group. Then practice, practice, practice. When you have developed a reasonable proficiency, attendance at a 2-3 day golf school which promotes fundamentals and playing/instruction time, is a logical move.
Upon completion of these tasks, you are now ready to understand why the game is so frustrating.
The secret to making it “easy” rests entirely within you! “The fault lies within ourselves.”

Chapters: Cabo Wabo, Grupo Sanborns, Señor Frog’s, Carlos’n Charlie’s, Potzollcalli, Restaurante Arroyo, Grupo Anderson’s, Villa Del Mar. Excerpt: Cabo Wabo is the name of three nightclubs and restaurants located in Cabo San Lucas, BCS, Mexico and in Harvey’s Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada and a third on the Las Vegas Strip Las Vegas, Nevada (located on the outside of the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood), as well as a popular brand of tequila, all founded by rock musician Sammy Hagar. Hagar, already a successful rock musician, visited the Mexican town of Cabo San Lucas in the early 1980s. Hagar joined Van Halen in July 1985 after the departure of its former singer, David Lee Roth. Seeking a place for himself and his friends to relax and play music, he convinced the Van Halen members to partner in opening a large bar, restaurant, and performance space. Launched in April 1990, the cantina was originally a financial failure, leading Hagar to buy out his band-mates. Under new management, the bar became popular with both locals and tourists as the town quickly grew into a major resort. In 2004, after plans fell through to open in Las Vegas, Hagar opened a second location in the basement of the historic Harvey’s casino on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. A third location was opened in Fresno, California in 2008 but had its license pulled by Hagar at the beginning of 2009. Cabo Wabo Las Vegas opened in The Miracle Mile shopping center at Planet Hollywood in November 2009. Hagar claims he coined the name after watching a man walk unsteadily along a local beach after a heavy night’s partying. Using the town’s nickname, Cabo (which means “cape” in Spanish), and shortening “wobble” to “wabo” he said of the man that he was doing the “Cabo wabo”. In 1988, h… More:

Ingleton Carnforth, U.K. (PRWEB) February 21, 2012
Meet Shane, 20-year old and a decorated soldier (a United States Medal of Honor awardee), a hero to most of the outside world. But Shane has mostly lived in a private world for all of his childhood years. Born in a manor to a mentally unstable mother (a member of the British aristocracy) and a father (a preacher who is a scion of famous Irish horse breeders) who resented him, he had learned to live on his own ? literally, as when he went to a ?hidey? to avoid a violently drunk parent or figuratively, as when he talked to Billy Bob, an ?imaginary friend? who served as his best friend. He had Annie (and her husband), but the housekeeper was too much in the world to have served as best friend to a psychologically beaten child. Jackie Mc?s I Cry Alone is a brilliant study of psychological survival, a drama of painful romance and coming to terms with the past.
After 10 years of absence from Lakeview, his ancestral home south of Dublin, he is coming back. His Aunt Maggie (whom he has worked for four years after leaving the army), the only one among his mother?s siblings who ?played with a full deck,? has forced this visit on him. His childhood memories come back to crowd his mind. Memories of Kathleen, his sweetheart whom he has had a child with; of Scrounger, the mongrel whom he had adopted; and Annie and Jimmy ? come back raging into his mind as the journey takes him closer to home and his acrimonious childhood. Secrets about his past begin to unfold.
Would his presence in the village cause problems for the mother of his son, a son he had never seen? Kathleen had written and told him to stay away, that his letters were causing friction with the new man in her life. He had to try one last time face to face. If she said, ?No, you cannot see your son?, he would drive back to Dublin, get a flight to New York, and try and forget the past. It had taken him ten years to muster up enough courage to come home. He knew he was not very big on courage. Others thought he was a hero. He had come to accept the truth about himself ? he knew he was no hero. This book ends with a surprise which, taken in context with Shane?s life, is well within the realm of possibility.
This book will be featured at the 2012 Bologna Book Fair in Bologna, Italy, on March 19-22, 2012.

Hector Kipling is a famous artist. But Hector is not as famous as his best friend, Lenny Snook. And as they are standing in the Tate Gallery one afternoon, Hector’s life begins to unravel. For a painter, this existential crisis is the place from which great art is born. If the painter happens to be a forty-three-year-old man with a girlfriend away from home, it is the recipe for disaster. Soon it’s all Hector can do to keep it together — between his therapist who shows up drunk at a party and introduces herself to his parents, an irresistible young female poet with a terrifying taste for S&M, and a deranged stalker with an oil-and-canvas-inspired vendetta, just trying to cope is enough to make a man cry. As the events in his life threaten to drive him toward full-blown dementia, Hector finds himself in a bizarre and murderous pursuit of a man threatening to kill him in return, spiraling into a hysterically surreal Hitchcocklike thriller — the story of how a man can become desperate enough to shoot his way out of a midlife crisis. At turns warm, witty, and joyfully absurd, David Thewlis’s wicked comedy marks the debut of a savagely funny and observant literary talent.
